2 Samuel 18:11

Joab said t the man who had told him this, “What! You saw him? Why didn’t you strike him to the ground right there? Then I would have had to give you ten shekels of silver and a warrior’s belt.”_ (NIV)

Today’s Word captures the conflict between integrity and personal gain. Joab’s offer of reward reflects the pull of self-interest, while the ‘unknown’ soldier’s unwavering stance shows the strength of loyalty and honor. Refusing monetary gain, he values righteousness above fleeting benefits. We, too, face moments where compromise tempts us, but the soldier’s choice teaches us that integrity, though challenging, glorifies God and preserves our spiritual identity.

*#Food4Thought:* Will you prioritize lasting righteousness over temporary rewards when confronted with such decisions?

*PRAYER:*_Lord, give me boldness to uphold righteousness, and resist selfish temptations. Let my life reflect Your truth always. IJN._
